§ 40. Franchises and easements.

Be it further enacted, that the City Council of Cumming shall have power and authority to grant franchises, easements and rights-of-way over, in, under, on, or along the public streets, lanes, sidewalks, alleys, parks, and other property of said city, on such terms and conditions as they may fix by ordinance. And shall likewise have the right to regulate by ordinance or resolution any and all public service or utility corporations doing business in said city, in any manner not in conflict with the laws of Georgia or the United States.
