§ 49. Trees in public places.

Be it further enacted, that the City Council of Cumming shall have power and authority to adopt and enforce ordinances for the protection and preservation of shade-trees on the streets, public places, and parks in said city, and to prevent the cutting, impairing and mutilating thereof by telephone or telegraph companies or employees or by other persons unless the same is done under and with the express and formal consent of the city council or some officer appointed by them to direct the same, and then only when absolutely necessary.
