§ 2-172. Plan adopted.
(a)
The city clerk is designated as the coordinator of the records management plan and authorized to act for and on behalf of the city in directing and coordinating all records management matters under the Georgia Records Act as set forth in O.C.G.A. § 50-18-90 et seq. Records retention schedules approved by the city shall be documented in the record of the deliberations of the mayor and council.
(b)
Records shall be maintained in accordance with approved retention schedules. No record shall be destroyed except as authorized by a state records committee approved retention schedule.
